I worked at Mc Donald's. A poem?

When I worked at Mc Donald's I hate it, I hate it not Every minute was an hour Every hour was a day, There were kids around every day, Kids asking for Hello Kittys, Kids asking for Winnie the Pooh. People eat like pigs, People are pigs, we are! How can a person do this to a table? Pigs, they were all pigs. 4 hours, 6 hours, and them freedom Sit down, no more kids, No more Hello Kittys, No more Pigs.

The fall colors

In Autumn/fall the leaves change their color and fall one by one. The beauty of nature is over the top. It is this, in my opinion, the most dramatic season, where you can see the end of an era and witness the begging of another. Fall is that time of change and it is impossible not to feel that something is also changing inside you. Now, we are not trees, so we can't see how our leaves are falling, but our colors definitely change. The cold wind makes us dress in warmer clothes, most of then are on darker and earthy colors. Now are wardrobe is full of browns (darks, khakis, camels, terracottas..), blacks, grays, and some greens, in some ways kind looking like trees. I have to say that I do love fall/winter fashion, but in lots of ways, I loved to brake this color theory of pretending we are trees and dress on those colors. I know it is not that we are pretending that we are trees literally, and the scale of colors is more relative to the reflection of light and I agree with t...

Is not a drinking problem! or maybe it is?

Before I moved to the USA I was a drinker. Don't get me wrong, I didn't have a drinking problem but I enjoyed to drink during the weekends with my friends a little more the one beer per night, in fact, lots of times the drinking was over half of a bottle of Aguartiente (popular anis drink in Colombia) per person, so yes I really used to enjoy drinking. Now what brings me to this post, is my believe of actually being drinking more or maybe often now. I was used to a different amount, one or two beers in the middle of the week, and tons of Aguardiente during the weekend, but now I find myself on a Tuesday night in front of the computer with a glass of wine in my hands and almost feeling like a desperate housewife. A glass of wine, a beer or a bottle of Aguardiente , there is any difference? well, of course, there is one, now I don't wake up with a hangover Sundays mornings, or even Wednesdays. If my mom read this she will think that her daughter may have a drinking pr...

The outdoor magic

I love my beautiful Colombia. I'm 100% proud of said: I'm Colombian and that Colombia is a great country, with lots of faces, both good and bad. All the goods and bads make the country a special place, a place really enjoyable for live, love and play, so don't get me wrong with this but: Live in USA rocks! Yes, I said it: Life in USA Rocks! but not for any of the reasons that a lot of people have the "American Dream", in fact often I realize that life here can be even harder than in Colombia, a "3rd wold country". I'm not saying the USA rocks because of the malls, the clean streets, the feeling of safety, or the Calvin Klein outlets. I'm saying it rocks for how easy it is camping and scape to nature; how easy it is enjoying the outdoor magic! I was a boys scout ( in Colombia it is unisex), so I can say the I knew what camping was, and thanks to my family, I was able to enjoy the countryside often, I even have a funny story about the last ti...

Go Bilingual/ Ahora Bilingue

OK, people, it is the time for me to try to do this in English, to write and make more public my mistakes in this language, and keep trying to improve my grammar, I know, Spanish is more fun, but I need to try, and everybody is welcome to comment and correct me... I mean the idea is now making my blog an English exercise, and why not, approach what I have to say to only English readers. If not well I'm just killing two languages at the same time...
